Think Twice from Nostalgics (2009) by Zigg Zag

This was always one I was really proud of.. I sampled "Think Twice" by Donald Byrd. I created it originally as a beat for my dude Achillez but he didn't like it, I said fuck that and took an acapella of his and put it over it, release it, and everybody loved it. It may not be my best beat anymore but for a very long time, it was hard to top it. I was especially proud of the way I chopped it up during the verses.. the only thing I would do differently if I was to make the beat today is make the drums a little less synthetic, but all in all this one still has a special place for me. I remember going to my first beat showcase out in Smithtown, and I was really shy since I never went up in front of people like that to show off anything.. everyone thought I would be wack, but this shit hit the speakers and I got immediate respect, so that definitely felt good and boosted my confidence up a notch when it comes to what I do on the pads.
