Strange Times by Yulia Musayelyan
The original inspiration for this album came from the duo arrangements of (mostly) Argentinian folk songs I recorded at home with my partner in 2020, during the first, darkest, year of the pandemic. This endeavor turned into a full set of music, which is available on my youtube channel.
I consider the Songs for the Soul cycle to be part one of the story.
This album, Strange Times, is part two – the continuation of this chronicling and a musical reflection of the pandemic experience, with the added voices of my quartet.

Yulia Musayelyan is a flutist and composer, originally from Moscow, Russia. She has recorded on over 35 albums as sideman and has toured the US, UK, Europe, Central and South America with various musical projects.
