Afterglow by Victoria Lekson

"Afterglow" is an original harp composition by Victoria Lekson that features violinist Eric Bates of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. This piece was composed the morning immediately following a music festival that Lekson performed at in which there was a seemingly endless storm overnight and she found herself still awake as the sun rose, the storm finally clearing. Lekson recalls sitting at her harp as the glow of the morning sun illuminated the atmosphere and the birds chirped their morning songs. To reflect the nature of the internal musings on the experience of the storm and insomnia, Lekson called upon collaborator Eric Bates to add a voice to the conversation.

Victoria Lekson is a harpist from Cincinnati, Ohio. While her foundation is in classical harp studies, Victoria seeks to create new sounds and textures with the harp. In live contexts she frequently collaborates with artists from a multitude of genres. Victoria's music has been described as "ethereal" and as "cinematic".
