Imagine, if you will, taking a trip down to the beach with the ghosts of your former comrades. It's raining today, and each droplet contains a universe. From cloud to sand, eons pass within these realities, though they are but seconds to you. As matter can never truly be destroyed, these universes simply shatter upon hitting the sand, the fragments scattering across its surface. One of your ghost friends kneels down, talking in hushed whispers.
You choose to ignore it.
The next day you return to this location, this time alone. The beach is gone. In its place now exists a vast crater, within which lies the frozen remnants of yesterday’s rainfall. As you walk over the ice's surface, you come across a paper boat, but the ice quickly begins to melt as you approach. You desperately try to swim towards the paper boat. Despite your efforts, it never seems to get any closer.
You choose to stay home the next day. You hear a knock on your door, and answer to find it's one of your ghost friends. In its hand it holds the paper boat, still dripping wet.
You close the door.
You once again return to the location the next day. The beach is back again, but it isn't the same. How could it be? You begin digging a large hole in the sand. One of your ghost friends watches silently from afar. You pretend not to notice. The tide soon reaches your hole and fills it.
You dive in.
The next day you awaken to find your house filled with sand. The ceiling is leaking again. You abandon this house and return to the beach. The ocean is no more. Your hole in the sand has grown a bit. It begs you to sate its hunger.
You choose to ignore it.
You return to the desert a few years later. It never rains here anymore. You make your way deeper in and find your ghost friends waiting for you. None of their words make any sense to you. Nothing at all makes sense anymore, but that doesn't bother you.
You join them and begin your journey through the desert together.

And it said:
“Let them crumble, with the worlds we left behind.”
