Transcendent by Triswara

Triswara is the brainchild of Dadang Dwi Septiyan, a musician whose lifelong exploration of the art of sound has been distilled into the Triswara project since 2019. With a musical journey that began long before, Dadang's passion found a focused outlet in Triswara, allowing him to experiment with a wide array of musical genres. Hailing from the musical landscape of Indonesia, particularly the island of Java, Triswara's musical journey is an expression of Dadang's eclectic tastes and a reflection of his unique sensory experiences. Dadang Dwi Septiyan's creative process draws inspiration from his vivid visual and auditory encounters, resulting in a captivating and diverse repertoire. In 2021, Triswara unveiled their debut EP, 'Swarasmesta,' an artistic endeavor meticulously produced and composed solely by Dadang himself. Joining him in crafting this sonic adventure were the accomplished musicians Eka Budi Setyawan and Dandi Adhi Septian, who contributed as session players. Triswara's mission is to paint a vivid picture of humanity's historical journey in music—how people created, composed, and practiced their musical craft in times gone by. This endeavor explores a rich tapestry of forms, styles, and technologies, and delves into the power of objects to encapsulate musical elements, offering a unique perspective on the evolution of sound.

Triswara has previously contributed to compilations released by Unexplained Sounds Group. However, "Transcendent" album marks their debut solo release with the label.

This Is Darkness
Listening to the latest album from Triswara is an almost spiritual experience – evolving drones are complimented by mystic chanting and subtle field recordings, creating an audio journey that takes the listener to other worlds and other realms, yet retains its Earthen roots. In places, it’s almost tribal, and fans of ritual dark ambient will find plenty to savour. Exceptional stuff!
