It’s been a disappointing year, to say the least.
So much to accomplish met with so much defeat.
And now I stare out a window to a world I barely know,
The reflection off the glass only carries a glimpse of ambition.

An awakening To find I've spent more time
Dreaming life than living Accepting the writing on the wall
As a sign of change The break this path This trap of mediocrity

And so I sit restless And wondering
If the grass is always greener Or if there is something bigger
Waiting for me on the other side of these walls On the other side

With more behind me Than in front of me Another year fades with fall
And resolution mocked with winters cold breath I place my foot out the door And take that first step.

In this breath I feel more alive Than I have ever felt In my entire life.
And now I see The world As how it was meant to be.
