2012 by The Insurrectionists

I will be releasing all the music I have created in my dismal life slowly over the coming weeks, exclusively on bandcamp, in order to clear out the archives and turn the material over to the world. Most of it is not pretty or even good by most measures, but every single song has had a part in my growth as a human being and for that alone I feel they deserve at least the opportunity to be heard and dissected.

this collection documents the throwaways of one of my more busy times recording. the better of those songs, as i determined at the time, will be found on subsequent releases.

two of the songs here would find a true release elsewhere (horizon and loss, albeit reworked into a different song) and at least a handful of the rest to this day i wish to reinvent and breathe new life into.

this year was my first with a proper recording interface, and marked the beginning of my true leap into recording as a tool, not just as a documentation of a song. these songs here i began piecing together more in the digital space as paintings, separate elements pieced together to form a greater whole, rather than just to capture what a band might play in a live setting.
