in purples hinting lands unfound
to furnish thoughts afore the fall

timber tones shelve leather tomes
crushed morocco framed with rosewood
decanted in wine-coloured robes
poured there into a throne of oxblood

fixed upon that carmine chair
maroon, this unfixed endless stare
a glass in hand while flames alight
tyrian shades of endless night

nothing now left but the waiting
to some exquisite damnation resigned
of high claret walls and joyless debauch
until drawn down to the other side
