Rhythm'N'Cheese by The Beavers

After the resounding success and overwhelmingly positive reaction to ‘Beavers Go Moo’ - it went down real well with the BC faithful and was a big hit with the heads down the Linney - the Beavers set to work on a follow up that would plough further into a classic 60s pop furrow and dig deeper into the old school grooves of Moo.

Rhythm'N’Cheese saw The Beavers sound ripen like a fine Brie, and mature in the vein of a vintage Stilton, and gain the fulsome flavour of a well aged Cheddar.

The rhythm came from the opening salvo of the groove driven instrumental ‘Phunkological’, the orthodontic buzz thrills of ‘Dentist Day ‘, the crazy disco funk of ‘Dance All Night’, and the galactic pop stomp of ‘Galaxy Charge’. The cheese could be found in the bittersweet breakfast preserve visions of ‘Marmalade’ (and cheese?!), the Beach Boys homage ‘Brand New Car’, and in a slew of family favourites; the childrens entertainer tale / pub lock-in singalong number ‘Barnaby Flume’, the kids chorus carousel ride of ‘Curly Wurly’ (chocolate and cheese!?!), and the fruity youngsters party ditty ‘Oranges and Bananas’ (cheesy foreskin!). All dipped in the musical fondue and given a liberal coating of Beaver cheese.

Thus The Beavers marched forwards with the pounding of bovine hooves banging out a beat in the dairy and the creative fermentation process yielding the tastiest offerings yet.

In the fall of 1993 the meeting of 3 great musical minds took place when Professional Vaughan, Amateur Kirkpatrick and Saloon Wilson joined forces to meld the cult phenomenon of The Beavers. They cooked up a sublime sonic stew of lo-fi slacker indie, with a dollop of country twang, a chunk of grunge, a fair smattering of folk stylings, and a soupcon of metal frisson.
