A Terry Da Libra release is always a momentous occasion for our label community, if only for the fact that the Greek veteran has generously contributed music to our imprint throughout our decade-long history. Putting our own bias aside, the sophistication and emotional depth of Terry's music have often inspired awe in the global trance & progressive community, as evidenced by consistent radio support from the likes of Above & Beyond and other genre icons. Following the extraordinary "Hope Unchained," a recent collaboration with Aeron Aether, Terry is now back with his own solo EP, featuring two career-defining productions, including the achingly beautiful title cut, "2H3arts."
Terry Da Libra kicks off his new EP with "Eunoia," an esoteric term that can either mean "normal mental health" or "having the audience's interest at heart." No doubt the latter connotation is valid here, as this club-flavored and hypnotic (if not euphoric) progressive anthem strikes an emotional chord in the listener from its earliest moments. The driving groove in the early going sets up an epic soundscape, featuring an electrifying lead arpeggio and dizzying vocal effects. In the main breakdown, we experience the pinnacle of Terry's compositional prowess, as soaring pads, orchestral strings, and a poignant piano theme unite with the aforementioned motifs. The result is rapturous, especially when the original rhythm powers its way back into the mix.
Closing out the release, the intoxicating "2H3arts" is a welcome counterpoint to the adrenalin-fueled "Eunoia." After exploring deep-progressive sonic textures on several recent remixes for our label, Terry has crafted an original song in this vein, much to our great joy. Sparkling bell-tinged melodies and wistful pads permeate the after-hours soundscape of "2H3arts" and imbue the listener with feelings of romance, longing, and, ultimately, hope.
