As they ride east, a shadow in the sky gives persuit. At last, they can run no longer. A vast canyon divides the land and prevents their progress. Turning to face the shadow, Oneth realizes it is Dhara, goddess of identity and keeper of Solitude. He has a vision or a dream. When it’s over, he finds Lath and himself on the east side of the canyon. Dhara is gone. Oneth wonders if she was ever even there.
