Deils Awa' from Burnout by stringjammer
‘Deils Awa’ stems from a heartfelt desire to share whatever inspired Burns to write it way back in the day; probably trying to hold down a steady job to feed his family whilst recognising that most folk would’ve happily sent him off to Hell with ‘Auld Nick’ playing the tune as he went down.
It’s realigned here with an alternative melody, inspired by the likes of Jack White, darker than the ‘original’ and arguably more fitting alongside the big themes of hornpipes, Strathspeys, whisky, the devil.. and lets not forget taxes!
