In SONUS EORUM, which started as a noise music studio project in Berlin 2020, Mathieu Sylvestre live- records, loops and transforms Leander Reininghaus' rerouted live sounds and samples, which are used as a source of objective material in order to create a geometric response to the sound flow of the loops.
Mathieu Sylvestre is a French noise musician who works with loopers, instruments and field recordings.
Leander Reininghaus is a German composer, producer and livelooping multiinstrumentalist.
The releases presented here are the audio works of SONUS
EORUM's ongoing studio sessions.
Transitioning from 'ekeí éxo', 'anámeiktos' starts off with the cheerful grove of a black hole whose sound was transposed into audio range. But at some point the spaceship moves sonically away from the outer realms and back to Earth. After the banter of lonely sound generators and curated noises, it lands safely on a mystic chord.
Too many spoilers...?
Well..., we think the Greek word for 'mixed', 'blended' and 'mingled' catches the vibe of this release pretty well.
As always, please use headphones for the best listening experience. Enjoy!
This is the 5th installment of the 2024 session series, recorded November, 19 in Berlin
