Birdsong by Son Clair

These field recordings were made from a bench in St Leonards Gardens in St Leonards-on-Sea during 2011, and are a record of the ambient, environmental sounds of birds, cars, and people that existed there for the brief moments I sat still and listened.

The raw recordings were then edited and layered to form a condensed 'sonic picture' built up from all different types of sounds that I had collected.

The artwork for the album was inspired by various illustrations of birds from 'The Birds of Britain and Europe' (Heinzel/Fitter/Parslow. Pub. Collins), available in all good Charity Shops... :)
