A collaboration spanning Brooklyn to Beijing, Small Stepper melds the dub- influenced jams of New York City’s DZZZ with the glitchy skweee of Beijing’s Fløøød.
DZZZ, the Kingston-born, Brooklyn-based vocalist of Small Stepper, has been active in New York’s underground electronics scenes for more than a decade. His Rahtid! Sound project achieved notoriety for its mashups of dub and classic rock tracks. His track and music video “Hello Operator” under the name Iris Ation & Tropical Fantasy was an Internet success in 2012 before its release by Dubshot.
Fløøød is a staple of Beijing's electronics scene, having launched the 87FEI87 skweee party series and cassette label in 2011. He’s released tracks on international labels Innocuous Records, Gutter Lingo, Generation Skweee and Ausland Schläge.
"Qualms" is their first EP under the Small Stepper name.
