Forever Joy by Sleep House

Made between Spring 2021-Spring 2023

"Following up their 2020 release of "High Tide", a 3-song EP. Sleep House started demoing new ideas in the Winter of 2021. A trip to Venice, FL in May is where the concept of the record came to fruition. Throughout their week in FL, a laptop was left in the dining room, and throughout the week the band would come in different groups to work on the songs. They settled on these 6 songs, no album title yet. FJ's producer, Joe Turzillo, reached out to the band about possibly working together in the new studio he helped open. They had all met 2 years earlier, but hadn't spoken until just now. The meeting was great, and thus Joe Turzillo joined the project.

Summer of 2021 was rough for the personal lives of each band member. Some had gone through a parent's divorce, another losing a close family member. Major changes to their daily lives. The 6 song's original meanings began to take on new ones after this change. Adam had re-wrote the lyrics to track #6, and gave it the name "Forever Joy". It resonated with the band members, and was almost instantly looked at as the official name.

The next two years are a blur at times. Shows were starting to come back after the lockdowns, and Sleep House was playing consistently From Fall 2021- Fall 2022. The record was continuously being worked on throughout this period, but on top of preparing for shows and going to school it was a tough to juggle everything efficiently. There were many ups and downs morally throughout, but the record still needed to be completed. The band started to lighten up on shows, and put focus on completing the record.

At last, the record was completed in March 2023. Relieved from it's completion, we look back on where it started. How different we are from the people who started this project, everything that has grown and changed within this period, the people who've come in and out of our lives. This was the record that lived with the band throughout all of this, and now they proudly get to share it to the world."
