Synapses by Scott Crawford Morrison

'Synapses' was composed as the soundtrack to Trace, a short dance film conceived and filmed in 2013 in Glasgow by Fiona and Scott Morrison, and directed by Chih-Peng Lucas Kao.

Inspired by the influence of dreams on reality, the interaction between inner and outer states, and the trace each leaves on the other, Trace was a duet for two dancers: one a classical ballet dancer, the other a parkour practitioner.

The music was conceived as a backdrop for the meeting of these two characters.

Trace received its premiere at Aberdeen DanceLive 2013 and travelled to Brazil in 2014 for the VIII São Carlos Videodance Festival.

Scott Crawford Morrison is a writer, composer and performer based in Glasgow.

He is one-fifth of acoustic-ambience band Neuro Trash, and one-half of free improvisation duo Allowed Noise.

This music is all his own.
