well the land lies low where waters rise
and she kneels before the test of time
Louisiana parish lines
i cross them just to clear my mind

but when the light burns low

then i saw the way the heron flew
over Cypress Island early June
in the world of things that i might do
if i didn’t fear i had so much to lose

i headed South four years ago
wasn’t sure which way to go
