Cleanse the scorch marks
With the water of a silver lake
Throw the ashes to the breeze
Bury them at the roots of the trees

There are maggots on the inside
A poison in my mind
A desire to extract the darkness
But this darkness is mine

Defenceless and brittle
I pummel and release the scents
Of tendrils of nettles
And wisps of frankincense

There are coins in my pocket
A grail in my hand
A blade, by my side sits a scabbard
A branch to help me stand

The aurora borealis
Illuminates the words
The blood from the ouroboros
Trickles from the tips of my fingers

Go in search for the roses
Search for the lilies

You’ll find me in the roses
You’ll find me in the lilies

I’ll be lying with the roses
With the lilies

Leave me in the roses
Leave me in the lilies
