when I look into the mirror all I see is just a shimmer
as clouds gather again over the city to conceal me
frailty holds me tight in an embrace I simply cannot fight

winter wears us well, it wears us well
this morning in December
but when February comes it will have worn us out

my eyes are grey, the skies are grey, the ground is torn asunder
our dear little island will soon be underwater

time has worn us well, it's worn us well within our youth
but as we carry on, time will only tell the truth
