"More than any other album I’ve ever worked on, Weeping Sores feels like the product of fate. Steve and I initially conceived it as a proof of concept - barely even a demo - for a future band, and we didn’t expect to release it, even informally. I hadn’t met Gina yet when I wrote most of the material; she was a last-minute addition after we’d recorded almost everything else. But the songs we tracked in Steve’s frigid basement during the winter of 2016 took on a life of their own as we mixed them. Once Gina’s violins were in place, we knew we had something worthy of daylight in our hands. It’s a primitive recording, but an honest recording. You can still smell the sweat on these songs, and I remain very proud of them." -- Doug Moore

WEEPING SORES is a doom/death metal band featuring the talents of Doug Moore (guitars, bass, vocals) and Steve Schwegler (drums), both of PYRRHON and SEPUTUS, and Gina Eygenhuysen (violins) of TCHORNOBOG and HELL. WEEPING SORES' approach to doom/death is highly personal, mediated by their admiration for bands like EVOKEN, WARNING, YOB, and MORBID ANGEL, among others. Soul-wrenching at one moment and suffocating the next, WEEPING SORES have carved a singular, searing path for themselves during their young career. They have released two recordings to date: Weeping Sores (EP, 2017), and False Confession (LP, 2019).
