Seasons by MASK
Here it is the second album, "Seasons"!
So this album was originally conceptualized back in 2019 when I was finishing the "A Western Tale" EP. I had some early proof of concepts I had made for it but had to put it on hold to make my first album "Where am I?". I subtly allude to this in the original about for the first album. After finishing the first album I went straight into writing out this album in late April.
The first song to be fully written and composed was "Late". It was going to just be a standalone single but I ended up thinking it would fit really well into the summer portion of "Seasons". Through May and June I was able to write down all the songs for the spring and summer portions. After getting that work done I had to worry about getting my stuff together to move from Gainesville back to Clermont. With moving being a priority I took a small break and began writing again in late July. Thanks to the break I was able to finish writing and composing everything by early August.
Now with the entire structure of all 17 songs being done I had to go and record. I was growing annoyed by the limitations of Audacity and moved to Waveform to edit all my songs. My first week with the program was dedicated to figuring out how to get my interface connections working and how to render a project. After overcoming those hurdles I finally began recording and editing in mid August.
Now with all that out of the way I would like to give a few shoutouts.
First I want to give a big thank you Evelyn Horstman for making the art of the album. She did a great job capturing the image of the cover I wanted and she was really patient with me throughout the whole process. The next big shoutout is to Kelly Northcraft. I asked her really early on to sing on a few of my songs for this project. She did a great a job and I hope everyone who listens to the album enjoys it too! I really appreciate the time she was willing to give me to sing these songs!
Finally I want to give a huge thanks to William Gan, Alex Hikmat, and Nathan Morales for telling me how to improve some of the songs and for just generally being great people. I really appreciate that you all took the time to listen to my wavy air.
