****MEMORANDUM (TOP SECRET – RESTRICTED DATA)****

Yesterday we received the seventh of a series of transmissions previously thought to be anomalous.

The sender (or senders) are unknown, however, we’ve successfully traced the source to an area beyond the observable universe.

The prevailing belief is that these transmissions are attempts to communicate with us:

1. The signal never repeats.
2. No other frequencies are used; (transmissions are not random “fishing” attempts).
3. Narrow signal distribution discovered when tracing the signal.

What these messages are communicating has not been determined; the transmissions consist of sound with no apparent similarities to known constructs of language.

PATH FORWARD: Translation

Currently, the most agreed hypothesis states that the sender is using sound based on our own cultural contexts as an attempt to communicate.

• To decipher the meaning we must listen to the transmissions based on the feelings and emotions evoked by the sounds themselves.

One question begged by this hypothesis; if the sender sufficiently understands our culture to communicate with sound alone, how did he / she / they learn so much about us?
