Warning: get a mop before you press play, because Brooklyn’s Don Dada has returned with nine tracks that flow like blood over mess hall prison floors. “The 9” is a socio/political manifesto for everyone from the immigrant turned gang member, the gun and drug trafficker, to the die-hard Hip-Hop head that has lost all hope due to the confines of a plastic, bubble gum music corporate take over run amuck. With guest appearances by El Da Sensi, Royal Flush and Vic Spencer, there’s no need to second-guess if Labba’s latest release is raw. You can smell the struggle through the album cover.
