Lyrics
Twilight
in the half light of evening she sang a sweet tune
to the shy wisps of cloud, to the soft summer moon
and the flickering stars, in the night
were filled with delight
and followed her back to her room.
in the kind arms of twilight she danced without care
in the light of the moon, in the warm evening air
till the shimmering stars, in the sky
whispered goodbye
and wished all her dreams would be fair.
and she dreamt of a ship, whose masts were so high
whose sails were so wide she was sure it could fly
and the kind captain said we'd love you, to come join our crew
and they sailed off across the night sky...
and she dreamt of a horse, so sleek and so lean,
that she knew it must soar like a dancing moonbeam
and the mare said to her come with me, we'll ride to the sea
out across the wide meadows and streams..
in the half light of evening she sang a sweet tune
to the shy wisps of cloud, to the soft summer moon
and the flickering stars, in the night
were filled with delight
and followed her back to her room.
in the kind arms of twilight she danced without care
in the light of the moon, in the warm evening air
till the shimmering stars, in the sky
whispered goodbye
and wished all her dreams would be fair.
