Luciérnagas from Vol.I by Paul Claypool

I toured in a punk band with my brother through the midwest when I was younger. It was our first tour and we were constantly sick or aching in some way but also the happiest we had ever been. We were with friends, we were on a journey and most of all we had a purpose at the end of each night.
Somewhere in Iowa or maybe Ohio we couldn't drive anymore and decided to sleep at a rest stop along the highway. We waited for the park caretakers to come and leave so we could sleep on the park tables without being disturbed. In the middle of the night I woke up and looked across the fields surrounding us to see fireflies. It was the first time in my life seeing something like that and it was beautiful. It was the worst and best sleep I ever had.
The next day I found bugs in my hair.
