Organic Synthesis by Paranautica

A spacefaring vessel is alerted by the presence of a black moon, outlined by a ring of suns. A shuttle is dispatched to explore the surface, where the dark landscape shelters relics of a lost civilisation. The expedition culminates at a mercurial lake, where the memories of those lost are found to be recorded in the cells of a world-eating parasite – the only life remaining on the moon.

The explorers will later wake up on their ship with no memory of what transpired on that moon, and oblivious to the multitude of deceased voices currently infecting the depths of their minds.
