We’re still in 2012. At the end of the year, the album “2010” was published, the title referring to the year in which we recorded it, during a couple of hot August nights, in one of the immense naves of the Oeiras Foundry.
PINKDRAFT was an improvised music quartet, with Ricardo Jacinto on cello, Nuno Torres on alto saxophone, Travassos on analogue electronics and myself on percussion. We were active between 2007 and 2016 (last concert to date). The sound engineering was made by Pedro Magalhães (recording and mixing) and Rodrigo Pinheiro (mastering).
It is a project that I particularly cherish, as it was my first “band” of improvised music with some constancy of work (instead of a logic of ad-hoc musical encounters). This disc bears witness to that period of enthusiastic and joyful musical creation. It is also from 2012 on that my musical activity will allow me “to make two discs per year” (quote from “portuguese zappa”).
