as i descend stagnant waters
there is no wind to sail in
the mast is old and damaged
and the yards are broken
the fabric of the sail is torn
and the boat is driven ashore
and coming to the land i founder

while the sun is dying and i follow
while i cross this land of silence

preserve my heart from going astray
in dreadful places and at the sight of blood
