“Mysterious Black Wires”

Kris and Rosemary found themselves in a dimly lit corridor that resembled a children’s play area complete with the wall texture of a classic cartoon suburban town and a checkered floor with a fake road running through it. Several stop signs, large toy cars, and cardboard cutouts of buildings were also strewn about, along with party balloons floating at various heights. There was just one problem though, this area was infested with the WIRES, which were so thick here that they had punctured parts of the level and caused the geometry to warp upwards or downwards off into infinity. Luckily these anomalies remained static thanks to Rosemary’s influence. Kris wanted to know more about what the deal was with the WIRES, but she could only allow that the phenomenon was a fundamental aspect of what made her world work. To put it simply, the power of the WIRES is what allows the Backrooms to behave how it does. Think about that: a sentient fundamental force capable of warping space, time, and matter, and Lavender had used it to gain power, no wonder she was acting so unhinged. Anyway, back to our traveling companions, it took some effort but Rosemary was able to clear the way forward. She and Kris hurried out of the room as the WIRES were growing more agitated and messing with the lights/summoning in smiley face balloon entities to retaliate.
