Al-Huriyya from Huwa by Mous Bahri

a poem by Gibran Khalil Gibran and it is “About Freedom” The first I heard this poem I was around 19, it was through an animated movie “The Prophet” then I purchased the book as a gift for myself on my 24th birthday, in the end of this song I start singing “This Freedom is mine” and claiming what was forbidden to have , then addressing freedom as a goddess, trying to channel that energy in order to continue writing freely about everything inside of me, from believes, love, sexuality, sexual desires to my own political point of view.

Mous Bahri is a Lebanese indie contemporary singer who was born on November 1994, Beirut, Lebanon. All-round artist, he writes, composes and produces his songs, creates and performs his shows. His performances are unique and bridge both shores of the Mediterranean Sea Between Oriental, Pop and Avant-garde Electronic music, he has invented his own musical genre as an indie queer contemporary singer
