“Trouble” is the new single from new North London trio Girl Ray. It’s the first Girl Ray song to be given a physical release, coming out on a 7” through Moshi Moshi Singles Club on 25th November.
The song is about “apathy and hating yourself for trying to win pointless arguments in snakey ways,” say the band. “It’s about turning into someone you don't like.”
Girl Ray are Poppy Hankin, Iris McConnell and Sophie Moss. They deal in fuzzy Moldy Peaches–esque pop gems; shaping a love of off-kilter pop bands like Neutral Milk Hotel, Pavement and Cate Le Bon into a sound that feels instantly familiar and completely lovable. An endearing presence; full of promise.
