Mehari by Mohamed Lamouri

Mohamed Lamouri sings sentimental raï. Living in Paris but born in Algeria, he has been performing in the Paris metro since the early 2000s. Mohamed has a long story : illegal immigrant, autonomous visually impaired, he had a hard life but an unfailing optimism. He composed many songs and tested them on an urban audience constantly renewed. His first album, Underground Raï Love, was released in the spring of 2019. He totally nailed it with his covers of Cheb Hasni and his own compositions, at the confluence of 80's raï and Western pop. His new album Méhari produced by Baron Rétif is a road trip from Belleville to the south: an oranese dream were we're listening to Boutaiba Sghir, Rachid & Fethi, Cheb hasni gems, and Mohamed Lamouri's raï love songs he sings at the wheel. 'Méhari' is a racing camel from Algeria, prince of the desert, and also that french beach car from the late 70's, perfect driving shool vehicle for this awesome raï road trip.

Mohamed Lamouri chante le raï sentimental. Parisien d'Algérie, il se produit dans les wagons de la ligne 2 du métro depuis le début des années 2000. Son histoire est longue: 'sans papiers', mal voyant autonome, la vie dure et l'optimisme sans faille, les chansons composées et sans cesse affinées à l'épreuve d'un public urbain sans cesse renouvelé. Son premier album Underground Raï Love sort en 2019, ses reprises de Cheb Hasni et ses propres compositions aux confluents du raï des 80's et de la pop occidentale font mouche. Son nouvel album Méhari, réalisé par Baron Rétif, est un road trip raï depuis Belleville jusque dans le sud, on rêve d'Oran en écoutant quelques pépites de Cheb Hasni, Boutaïba Sghir ou Rachid et Fethi, et les histoires sentimentales de Mohamed Lamouri qui chante au volant. Méhari c'est un dromadaire de course, prince du désert, et aussi cette voiture de plage citroën, l'auto-école parfaite pour ce road trip raï !
