Katherine from Quarantine Times by Matthew Pillischer

I wrote this song in 2015, before I had my son, Asa. It was me imagining how I'd tell my future child that my mom wasn't alive anymore-- thinking about how I'd explain it to a young child. Now, Asa and I talk about my mom all the time, and it's not as hard to talk about it as I imagined. (I recorded this during the quarantine.)

Matt Pillischer is a singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist from the Philadelphia area. He is also a painter and a filmmaker. He is a revolutionary organizer with the Poor People's Economic Human Rights Campaign. He founded (and still occasionally plays with) the band, High Hearts.
