Shades by Ilan Zagoria and Mark Cain
SHADES is a duo album featuring guitarist, Ilan Zagoria and multi-reedman, Mark Cain and traverses terrain between Southern African inspired music and jazz. Growing up in a Jewish family in Zimbabwe, Zagoria now lives in Australia, where he continues to explore the music of Southern Africa as well as that of his Jewish heritage. It was the music of legendary South African jazz composer/pianist Abdullah Ibrahim through which Cain and Zagoria found their strongest connection, and the inspiration for this recording grew from there.
