Cévennes by Marc et Olivier NAMBLARD

Marc & Olivier Namblard, audio-naturalists and listening wanderers, examining from childhood this contrasted and elusive landscape situated in the southeast of the Massif Central, called « Cevennes ».
Patience, exploration and familiarity with the natural environment have enabled them to create a body of work of field recordings that are of the highest depth and quality. The best from amongst them have been assembled on these two disks, as an hommage to the Cévenol landscape and to the sounds of its fauna.
Amongst the subjects presented here: singing insects of the causses, vultures feeding, passerine songs, underground streams, barking stags, rumbling storms, amphibian choruses and sheep bells.

Marc & Olivier Namblard, audio-naturalistes et promeneurs écoutant, arpentent depuis leur enfance les Cévennes, pays contrasté et insaisissable. merveilleux et insoumis, situé dans le sud-est du Massif Central. Patience, errances et connaissance des milieux naturels leur ont permis un travail de prise de son, approfondi et de haute qualité. Leurs meilleurs enregistrements ont été assemblés sous la forme de ces deux disques, en hommage aux paysages cévenols et à l'écoute de leur faune. Parmi les sujets saisis : insectes chanteurs des Causses, curée des vautours, chants de passereaux, rivières souterraines, brâmes de cerfs, murmures d'orages, chœurs de batraciens et sonnailles de troupeaux.

Marc Namblard is working as both an audio-naturalist and sound artist. His numerous works (for publishing, museography, theater, cinema...) alternate between naturalistic compositions, educational projects, experiments, and musical explorations. These creations are characterized by recurring thematic and territorial elements, as well as many collaborations with visual and sound artists.
