Manchester Piano by Mama Tjutju

The Manchester Piano EP was recorded, without intending for it to become a full album, an afternoon in Manchester on an old piano that was not used much anymore, in the house of a woman who was so kind to borrow us the house for the afternoon, for me to play. I was longing to play, as I had been in Manchester for some months without having a piano. So the reason for me to go to that house that afternoon, was simply just to have an afternoon of playing everything that was inside me in that moment. Everything that had accumulated for some time. It is like an emotional detox / emotional and spiritual digestion. I brought my little portable recorder and I just recorded everything. It is a playing together with the specific sound of that specific piano in that specific room. I have had these recordings in my 'drawer' for some time, and now it is the time to share them.

My hope and my vision is that within this music, intuitively composed and played, you will be able to mirror your own inner and outer landscapes and digest your beautiful life through it.

I want to thank Swedish sound-engineer Frida Johansson, who worked with me on making these recordings ready for speakers and headphones and ears everywhere.
