Masquerade live video: https://youtu.be/wys0v6wxXeA
5 tracks + 2 interludes. Recorded live in May, 2015 and originally released (tape + digital) by Grabbing Clouds Records and Tapes (San Francisco, CA) on July 13, 2016. A previous offer was received (and accepted) in 2015 from an offshoot of Burger Records, but the delay in delivering the mix by the recording engineer forced a different ending (happy ending!). Mixing and mastering was finally carried out by Miguel on a 2008 macbook with GarageBand 6 and 5€ Tiger earbuds (the pink ones).
Cristina Ruiz (bass and backing vocals) was about to give birth at the time of the recording and opted not to take flights, so David López learned the bassline overnight and played her part flawlessly for this recording. Other band members: Germán Amitrano (drums) and Miguel (Vocals and guitar). Additional vocals by Laura Mena (Puerto Rico). Laura includes Puerto Rican idiomatic expressions and Tico accent, since ‘mal ride’ is actually an expression from Costa Rica meaning ‘bad ride’. Artwork Illustration by Robin Eisenberg.
The lyrics depict subjects on dreams. The basic idea was about dreaming to make music to dream to.
