銀河旋風ブライガ (Galaxy Cyclone Bryger) is a Japanese anime series from 1981. Here in Italy it was never particularly successful, partly due to dozens of similar cartoon having saturated the market since April 1978, when UFO Robot Grendizer (Atlas Ufo Robot in Italy) paved the way for all the hundreds of anime series that would follow. These series were given new theme songs composed and performed by great musicians - sometimes even the best in this country - in place of the original ones. Bryger was no exception and boasted a phenomenal electronic theme song composed by Salvatore Pinna and Walter Rodi, and sung by Franco Martin.
Many years ago I made a cover of this track that I never released. Jacob heard it and suggested I re-record and release it. Since he’s American, he had never heard the original, so I had him listen to it: he fell in love with it, so much so that he decided to record his own version. He was so enthusiastic about it that he finally convinced me to re-record my version and release it along with his. This single exists mainly thanks to him. My deepest gratitude goes to all the awesome musicians, composers, producers and sound engineers who created those great songs I’ve learned so much from.
I was one half of BIOnighT (a Berlin School duo that split in 2011) for twelve years. I've always recorded my own stuff, though, lots of it and in many diverse genres. So make sure to check out all of my albums on Bandcamp, at least one is bound to belong in a genre you like!
