Australe by Loya

I’m proud to share my new 3-track EP, released today on Tamil New Year. This project is a tribute to my great-great-grandmother, who came from Pondicherry to Réunion generations ago. A personal journey blending memory and creation, where synthesizers meet the rhythms of maloya to celebrate my Indian and Réunionese heritage.

Je suis heureux de vous présenter mon nouvel EP, sorti en ce jour de Nouvel An tamoul. Ce projet de 3 titres rend hommage à mon arrière arrière grand-mère, originaire de Pondichéry et arrivée à La Réunion il y a plusieurs générations. Un voyage intime entre mémoire et création, où les synthétiseurs dialoguent avec les rythmes du maloya, pour célébrer mes racines indiennes et réunionnaises.

For the past four years, Loya has been exploring the musical intimacy of the of the Indian Ocean, contributing to dissipate in a singular way the borders between electronic music and traditional music in the age of globalization.
