Miniature II by Ko Shin Moon
In 2020, Ko Shin Moon got back in the studio and started a series entitled Miniature. With this new body of work, Ko Shin Moon are paying tribute to pop and folk cultures from Maghreb to India, gently inviting listeners to travel through space and time.
In line with the first opus published in December 2020, Miniature #2 is a free and humble exploration of Greek, Turkish and Kurdish music repertoires.
Ko Shin Moon deliver both original compositions and reinterpretations of traditional songs, in collaboration with Istanbul-based and Greek artists : Cem Köklükaya, Melike Sahin, Ali Tekbas and Mélina Vlachos.
Miniature is a dialogue between traditional instruments, vocals and electronic sounds. Each piece develops its own identity between folk, psychedelic rock and synthetic music. Traditional instruments of the region (saz, buzuq, zurna, davul, derbuka) are merging with synthesizers and drum machines.
