Virginia Rail by Virginia Rail
Virginia Railed formed in Bellingham, Washington in May of 2021 in the aftermath of the first year of COVID lockdown. Brought together by their shared love of bluegrass music, Finn Tobias, Kian Dye, and David Chapman quickly established Virginia Rail as Bellingham's premier bluegrass band. This album was recorded in March of 2022, only weeks before David left to hike the Pacific Crest Trail. Because of this, the performances you hear were almost all recorded live in one room over the course of two days in the studio. With the help of Nakos Marker on dobro and Forrest Marowitz on bass, Virginia Rail has created an eclectic album that moves seamlessly across genre boundaries while all the while remaining rooted in the bluegrass tradition.

Pacific Northwest native Kian Dye first picked up a fiddle when he was 6 years old and hasn't been able to put it down since.
Over the past two decades, Kian has made a name for himself as a performer, educator, community leader, and now recording artist in the Northwest bluegrass and acoustic music scenes.
