Oh I don't know - this one is a bit of a puzzle if you ask me - it does win points for being odd and I could imagine being drunk enough to really love it - and a snippet of this music during a film ("Walkabout" for example) would be good and perhaps even memorable. But almost an hour of it in your own home of a sober afternoon might feel more like a violation. Not sure. As with all these things, I'm too close to it and it's all too soon to tell. Perhaps it's brilliant. I'd be the last to know. And if it was truly awful I'd be the only one to ever know. And yes I love Stevie Smith's The Holiday - it's a book I love so much and know so well that I've never felt the need to finish reading it - it's just there, eternal, instant and immediate.
