unusually a fairly gentle safe ambient thing that's at its best when payed loud - and yet ideally this is music for sleep

today I went to Chichester to see the John Nash exhibition which was very poor, but that's really just his fault for being a drab artist, and my fault for going, and not the exhibition's fault. Then to Harbour Lights to sit almost alone (oh bliss) in the afternoon and watch The Alpinist, which is one of those documentaries that gives you a bit of a boost if you're a bit of an obsessive about something - climbing mountains or making too much music or really hardly doing anything but doing that nearly-nothing nearly all of your days and life. It was good, but somehow I slightly preferred the similar recent-ish documentary Free Solo.
Back here I made this slightly unprofessional track - music which I know will seem quite grating and please-mummy-make-it-stop to most people - but then so did Steve Reich's Music For 18 Musicians - not that I'm comparing the two pieces of music of course - this album is much more ahead-of-its-time - so much so that none of us will ever hear it at the right time - though I came very close while making it - yes I do quite like it.
(LATER (next morning) - played it a few times overnight and I'm feeling a bit less reticent about admitting how good I think it is - it's one of those really-great-if-yr-in-the-mood things)
