This work was originally written for a performance as part of the Nonclassical Battle of the Bands 2023. Our conception for this piece stemmed from our interest in the post-constructivist works of Artur Rosa and Julio Le Parc. Through extrapolating these ideas into a medium outside of the purely visual arts, our audiovisual re-contextualisation influenced us to develop upon the many relationships between our visual and sonic languages. As a result, this piece uses crossmodal variation and form to curate the sentiment of both motion and stillness.

Julia Set is a multidisciplinary creative duo co-curated by Lewis Wolstanholme and Francis Devine.
