After training as a prize-winning classical concert pianist, John turned to jazz and creative improvised music in his twenties. Since then he has played on over 50 albums and worldwide at over 50 festivals. Current main projects are his original music quartet Congregation, a quartet Re-Creations, which plays his unusual arrangements of other peoples tunes and a duo with Jon Lloyd called Naissance.
