Skeleton Friend by Brock and the Pescatarians

Brock and the Pescatarians is Loren Kiyoshi Dempster, Brock Daumler, Gabe Lewis, and Lucian Baxter. We are based out of Appleton, Wisconsin, our fates bound together by the Lawrence Conservatory. Loren's Introduction to Improvisation class gathered us out of the aether in January 2021, whereupon we spent a delightful 10 weeks creating music virtually-together, responding to the challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic with our creativity and the Internet; nearly every track on this album was recorded in real time from four different geographical locations. The 15 tracks on this album are but a few quintessential specimens from our body of work, which spans such forms as graphic scores, time scores, and improvised film scoring, and took inspiration from such composers as George Lewis and Pauline Oliveros, protest poet Genny Lim, and the great planet Earth itself.
