Nudity by Karolina Ossowska & Jeff Gburek

"Nudity" was recorded in one afternoon, and part of an early evening, at Kołorking Muzyczny, in the center of Poznan, in early May, when almost everyone was out of town for the long Majówka weekend. The concept for the album derived from a simple desire to play an entirely acoustic, improvised sequence in a fluid manner with permission to leave open space and time. The availability of the piano and the piano board (listed on the cd cover as "percussion" presented the opportunity for us to switch roles, trade instruments and exchange points of view. The titles reflect the various moods and associations we detected in our playing and they hopefully harmonize with the pared down presentation of sounds implied in nudity itself. All the tracks we recorded on that day are presented here and the mastering takes only into consideration the adjustment of levels to balance the instruments and to snip out the click of the recorder being engaged and disengaged.
