Jam Young met PIKE on Facebook back in 2013 and they start collaborating on music but it wasn't until PIKE's trip to NYC in 2017 where everything kicked off. 6 months after PIKE's NYC adventure, Jam flew to Denver to record a music video and perform at Spectra Art Gallery. Thanks to Jam's ambition and chemistry with PIKE in the studio, they ended up recording several songs...what they thought would be an EP, though eventually became their independent album debut, PB&J.
Originally titled Pyschedelic Experience, due to the nature of dabs, weed, alcohol, and psychedelics available during the creation of the album, PIKE and Jam decided to go with something a bit more friendly and relatable. Jam was in the studio thinking of titles and ancronyms as he always does and kept thinking about PIKE and (at the time) DJ Ray BLK's initials. Eventually landing on P(ike) B (ray BLK), and J(am Young).
After the pandemic created a huge delay on the project's finishing touches, Jam and PIKE released several singles including "Seeds of Change," found as a bonus track on Jam Young's last solo project, "Growth."
As the world normalized, Jam went on tour with Shabbam Sahdeeq and met back up with PIKE in Denver to finish the final touches of the album and create several promo tracks that are now included ONLY on the band camp version of PB&J. Those same tracks are also the beginning tracks of Jam's YEARLY release series, this time going for a spend of 52 singles in a row.
After starting this album in 2018, PB&J will finally be released to the world on 1.28.22. Both, Jam and PIKE are overly excited to hear people's favorite tracks and lyrics and can't wait to see what the world will do with it.
