Coastal Sweater from Camp Stories by Jake Frazier

Coastal Sweater was originally called Oregon Coast Sweater, but because of the totally accidental reoccurring theme of all the songs on this project starting with the letter "C," I moved some things around. This song was written about the same person as Coming to Terms was. She had gone to work at a camp up in Oregon, one that she was so excited to work at but one that also stole her heart and made her want to move there. I had just previously had a relationship end because of someone moving to Oregon. "What is it Oregon??"

She had a sweater that said... you guessed it.... Oregon Coast that had gone missing right before she went to this camp. It was her favorite, and she lamented the loss of it to me, only to later find out that it was accidentally taken by a very very good mutual friend of ours. Before this realization was made, I wrote this song from 1200 miles away, just to play with the idea of being the one who found the seemingly most important thing in her life at the moment, but really that was just what it seemed through our blue screen conversations. The sweater never meant that much, it was just an easy talking piece. Theres no way I was involved enough in her life to know what really was the most important thing to her at the time, but all I had was the Oregon Coast Sweater, so thats what I focused on, as superficial and simple as it is.

One of my best friends Kegn Venegas never fails to let me know how much he loves this song. Coming from a musician of his caliber, its a huge compliment. I think I've even heard him say its one of his FAVORITE songs. For sure out of the songs I've written, but maybe EVER?????
When I rearranged this song and showed Kegn for the first time, he didn't hesitate to ask where a specific guitar part had gone from the original (which maybe if I can get over my pride and self doubt I will release as a demo, we'll see). I genuinely forgot that I had even written a lead for this song. Kegn said that that line is one of his favorite guitar lines to play!! And this guy KNOWS the solo to You Give Love a Bad Name by Bon Jovi.... What??? So naturally, I asked Kegn if he would like to play the lead on this song. This is the only song on any of my solo projects discog. that has someone else playing an instrument. So to Kegn:
